April 19 -- Got a new batch of photos posted from Larry Decker (see menu at left) and it sounds like everything that will be ready by tomorrow is about ready. Everyone travel safe!! Weather's warming up some as promised, a little foggy in the morning, but should be nice by tomorrow afternoon. SEE YA TOMORROW! April 17 -- Spoke with an IMET friend at Medford Weather Service today. He said my original info is good range for the weekend, and heoffered the following information. I will adjust if things look different by Friday. The low pressure trough is moving slowly east, bringing partly cloudy weather to the reunion area by Friday. North flow aloft and in mid-levels will keep the warming trend slower than last weekend, but the weather will be drying and warming slightly. During periods of sunshine temps could reach 70º but otherwise partly cloudy with temps in the 60s for Saturday. Evening low temps could dip into the low 40s or high 30s. Saturday will be the best day of the next five days, so our timing is perfect. The rain flys are likely to not be unpacked. Warm clothing will be needed in the evening hours. Insects should not be a problem. BS repellent may not be effective.
Gene Rogers APRIL 17 -- There's a nice story in today's Klamath Falls Herald & News on the Winema Hotshots, including a photo of Bryan Hendricks and Kris Schroeder. APRIL 15 -- Only FIVE days to go! Things are shaping up! Weather forecast is for partly cloudy and maybe 70º if we're lucky. We have a big new batch of great photos from Larry Decker online here, and another batch (wow, thanks, Larry!) to be posted in the next day or so. Also contributed by Decker is an ode to hotshotting, The Call of the Hotshot, written by Doug Havlina after the 1989 season. Keep those cards and letters comin' and check out the fun on the guestbook, too. See you Saturday! MARCH 06 -- Quite a few new updates to the roster in the last few days, and some new photos on the Star crew page, too. We've added a sign-up form, which you can print out, fill in, and mail to us to reserve your spot at the reunion camp-out. Keep those names and photos coming! MARCH 01 -- We've put up a new "Roster" page (check the green menu bar at left) and we're hoping it's a good start on the master list. Please check it and make sure that you (and others you know) are on there, and that we've got the years/crews listed correctly. Thanks to Beej O'Reilly and Tom Mountz for major help with this, and a special thanks to Jeff LaLande, Archaeologist/Historian on the Rogue River National Forest. We've also got a new photo gallery page of shots provided by Brendan O'Reilly -- see menu at left. Thanks, Brendan! FEBRUARY 14 -- Crewmembers are having way too much fun on the guestbook page. Make sure you read it, and it's perfectly fine to post more than once. Check back on the guestbook and this page now and then for regular updates. The guestbook is a good place for alumni to hunt up old buddies, make new ones, or just give someone a bad time. FEBRUARY 13 -- Lots of new photos the last couple days, and THANKS to all those who have provided assistance and corrections with the photo captions. We've heard from a couple crewmembers who aren't sure whether they can make the reunion and we're wondering about setting up a page online for carpools? Whatcha think? Would this help if you could connect with someone you might be able to share the drive with? Do let us know [email] if you think of other things we should add to the website. Spread the news, help us find other alumni! And don't forget to sign the guestbook! FEBRUARY 10 -- We've added a new feature to the website — you can sign up (above) to get our email newsletter! We won't send you piles of junk email — just an occasional note in your inbox about reunion details. It's easy to subscribe, and just as easy to unsubscribe if you change your mind. You can also use this newsletter to communicate with the rest of the crewmembers — just send us an email and ask us to include your note in the next newsletter. FEBRUARY 09 -- The website for the Winema IHC reunion is up, and you're lookin' at it. This is the page where we'll update you with details on the reunion, logistics as they're confirmed, and news about crewmembers. If you have news to share, please email us and we'll post it here. We have a GUESTBOOK online where you can sign in (or not) and see which other crewmembers are out there online — a great way to re-connect with lost pals. If you've got photos, we need more for the website GALLERY, and we also need help spreading the word about the reunion. If you know of any former crewmembers, please let them know about this site. Thanks!
