Jen Shaffer is a graduate student in Environmental Studies at the University of Oregon. She graduated from Cornell University in 1994 with a degree in biology, concentrating in ecology. Her current interests include coastal wetland policy, restoration, and preservation, and the use of writing to help people understand the need for environmental conservation and preservation. Ms. Shaffer moved to Oregon last year from rural Northern New York. She enjoys hiking in wild places, and would like to see more of these areas forever protected. | Kelly Andersson has worked as a freelance writer and webgoddess for the Oregon Humanities Center, the Teaching Effectiveness Program, and the Oregon Department of Forestry. She developed the Pacific Northwest Forests website, and is currently the editor of Wildfire News. If she ever has spare time in her life again, she says she'll go back to flyfishing. |
