WINEMA IHC REUNION

LOGISTICS PAGE

We'll be holding the reunion at Valley of the Rogue State Park, 12 miles east of Grants Pass. We've reserved the entire F Loop (see below) for Saturday night of the reunion. This will provide about 50 campsites and six yurts, plus some common area for extra tents. There's a heated and lighted building for photos and history displays. We'll have a stereo system and PA set up, so bring your favorite tunes on CD and we'll rotate 'em through.

Chow line will include a potluck barbecue we provide the grill, the main course, the soft drinks, and the ice. You provide a potluck dish (bring something good!) and whatever else you want for food and beverages.

The cost for the reunion campout is $20 per person if paid by April 10 and $25 after April 10; this covers our expenses for the site and the barbecue. Tshirts will be extra.

Make your $20 check payable to WINEMA HOTSHOTS and send it by April 10 to:
Winema Hotshots Reunion
1936 California Avenue
Klamath Falls, Oregon 97601

We may plan on an "open mike" for stories and recognition of significant crewmembers after the music, and yes we are open to suggestions and nominations!

NOTE: The F Loop is normally closed during this weekend; they're opening it for us on Saturday. However, if you want to camp at the park on Friday night, you'll have to make your own reservations in another section of the campground. See reservation info below and on our links page.

We recommend you show up no earlier than 1200 (unless you want to help set up). Music and food and serious fun should be on tap by 1500.

ABOUT THE WX: A helpful FBA ran the Evans Creek RAWS and got data for 1991-2001 (eleven years). Here's the breakdown for April 20th: mean temp 51 degrees, average 13:00 temp 55 degrees, highest 13:00 temp 75 degrees, lowest 13:00 temp 41 degrees, average RH 60 percent, average windspeed <5 mph, average rainfall duration >2 hrs, average rainfall amount 1/10 inch. Should be a typical spring day in the Rogue Valley cool, damp, slightly breezy, scattered clouds, and chance of showers.
